Day 2 - Difficult Day

Day 2 was...difficult.  Not because of the food but because of the awful migraine I developed as the day went on.  I woke up with a headache which I have read was to be expected, but as the day went on it got progressively worse and worse.  The headaches are to be expected because of the toxins and junk coming out of the body and the lack of caffeine, but I never imagined how bad it would be.  This is also why the Day 2 blog is so late because I was in bed around 9:30 hoping to wake up better today.  Everyone experiences different side effects of the Ultimate Reset so I don't want to discourage anyone, but want to be honest about the experience while I'm going through it.  I also had a lot of cravings for sweets today that I didn't really have yesterday.  I felt like I wanted everything I couldn't have.  Thankfully I was around family who know why I'm doing this and are supportive and didn't let me sneak in a little piece of chocolate.  I did have a slice of an orange in the afternoon which helped with the cravings.

So Day 2 I was traveling to visit family and was in the car for 5 hours.  This required a little more planning in terms of when I ate and took supplements so that I was still on track for the day.  With the amount of water I was drinking, I found that I had to stop a lot more to use the restroom so it helped in terms of the meal planning.  I started the day with eggs and toast again because it was the quickest option.  I chose to switch my lunch and snack options for the convenience.  Being the only person in the car kind of limited my abilities to eat and drive :-).  For my snack I chose easier things to eat in the car which was strawberries and almonds.  I didn't think this would keep me full but surprisingly it did.

I chose to have a salad once I got to town because I didn't want to eat anything too heavy and then not be hungry for dinner (which I was really looking forward to).  Same salad as Day 1 but without any dressing because I couldn't travel with the dressing.  Again, this has helped me realize how much I relied on ranch dressing when eating salads.  I definitely love my ranch dressing and will continue to eat it when I'm finished with the reset, but I will definitely cut back on the amount!

Dinner....I was so excited about dinner because it was salmon and that's one of my favorite types of fish.  I marinated the salmon with a lot of different types of things than I ever have before and it was so good.  I swapped out the asparagus the recipe calls for and chose steamed broccoli instead.  The other item was the baby potatoes which I boiled and then seasoned with Himalayan salt and a little pepper.  It was delicious!
By this point in the day, my head was killing me and then I remembered reading that making sure to drink enough water would help with the headaches.  So I made sure before I went to bed to drink a TON of water and I woke up this morning without the pounding migraine from last night.  I thought I had been drinking enough water throughout the day, but when I really thought about it and wrote it out I was definitely short on water.

Day 2 in the books and ready to move forward!  Stay tuned...
